Legally Blonde: The Musical - Character Breakdowns
All roles listed are open and available to any race/ethnicity and gender identity. There are also a wide range of featured supporting roles with solos and lines throughout the show; these will be played by members of the ensemble (which includes Kyle the UPS Guy, Elle’s parents, Harvard professors, other students, prisoners, courtroom/trial members, and more!).
Elle Woods – A bubbly college student who follows her ex-boyfriend to Harvard Law School and realizes that she has more than just a pretty face to offer the world. Elle is lovable, determined, and energetic! A true triple threat, with excellent comedic timing.
Emmett Forrest - Emmett is a smart and quirky law student. He ends up taking Elle under his wing and believes in her when it seems that no one else does. A strong singer/actor with great comedic timing.
Paulette Buonofuonte - Paulette is the owner of Hair Affair, a local salon, and has a huge personality! A big fan of Ireland and Enya, she and Elle help each other achieve their dreams. Strong singer, excellent comedic timing.
Pilar, Margot, Serena – Elle’s best friends that appear throughout the show as her “Greek Chorus.” Pilar is the sassy and sensible sorority sister. Margot is the seemingly dim-witted, boy-crazy sorority sister. Serena is the energetic cheerleader sorority sister. Strong singers and dancers with good comic timing and youthful energy!
Professor Callahan - Callahan is a pompous and manipulative law professor at Harvard. Callahan should be commanding and charismatic, and able to turn on a dime into a conniving character. A real smooth talker, with attitude.
Warner Huntington III - Warner is attractive and charming, but very self-absorbed. He will do whatever it takes to achieve his dream of becoming a senator, including breaking Elle’s heart. A world class himbo-jerk!
Vivienne Kensington - Vivienne is an overachieving and stuck-up, but smart and savvy law student who is intellectually driven. She’s threatened by Elle's presence at Harvard, but works to hold her own—and definitely can. Strong belter with attitude.
Brooke Wyndham - Brooke is a fitness star and former sorority girl who was accused of murder—but even being in prison can’t keep her down! Strong dancer/athletic talents.
Enid Hoops - Enid is a strong, opinionated, feminist law student at Harvard—and she’s not afraid to show it! Her big personality and great comedic timing keep her classmates on their toes.
