When a model poses for sculpture the artist is confronted with volumes of visual information. This course is designed to teach how to decipher that information and create a likeness in clay of the artist model on an armature. Instruction will include how to make a proper armature, how to measure the proportions of a live model and set them in the clay figure, basic anatomy and clay modeling techniques. Each participant will receive personal instruction to help them create their clay sculpture. Everyone should bring their favorite tools, a plumb line and medium size sketchbook.
