After a packed 8-show run of their immersive oceanic song cycle Black Inscription at CCFTA in September 2019, Rabbit Rabbit Radio is back to celebrate the release of two new albums: Volume 4 - The Animal I Am, and Volume 5 - Love is Code.
“Rabbit, Rabbit!“ is what we say here in New England on the first of the month for good luck. For years, Rabbit Rabbit Radio has been taking this tradition a step further, posting a new song on the first day of every month to their subscribers (rabbitrabbitradio.bandcamp.com). Since long before Covid hit, they’ve been creating their songs in a sort of musical Exquisite Corpse process, sending tracks back and forth from one home studio to another, and finally to Jon Evans’ studio in Orleans, Brick Hill, for the final polish. After a year, they put a dozen songs together in an album and release it to the general public.
Based on Cape Cod and in Cambridge, MA, the members of RRR have international acclaim across many musical genres. Between them, they’ve worked with musicians from Tori Amos, Tom Waits and Saint Vincent, to the Silk Road Ensemble, the International Contemporary Ensemble, and the Brooklyn Youth Chorus. Together in RRR, they weave their expansive influences into hard-hitting and emotionally resonant original songs.
Rabbit Rabbit Radio is:
Carla Kihlstedt - voice, violins
Matthias Bossi - drums, keyboards, guitar, voice
Jeremy Flower - guitars, electronics, synths
Jon Evans - bass, guitars
