Ryan P. Casey: Return to Joy

Tap artist Ryan P. Casey brings his "freakishly clean footwork" (Dance Magazine) back to Cotuit for a solo performance that explores the rhythms of percussive dance, poetry, foreign languages, film noir, and much more. Featuring a soundtrack that includes Frank Sinatra, Gloria Estefan, Ella Fitzgerald, and other artists, this new show promises to deliver a joyful dose of Casey's award-winning "rocketing rhythms and stylish moves" (The Boston Globe).

Ryan P. Casey is a “whimsically inventive” (The Boston Globe) performer, choreographer, teaching artist, and writer in the greater Boston area specializing in joyful, rhythm-driven movement. His dancing has been featured on So You Think You Can Dance, in an episode of the Audible podcast Authorized: Firsts, in a museum exhibit about shoes, in a music video for a Spanish pop star, and numerous other platforms. Formerly named one of Dance Magazine's "25 to Watch," he has worked for colleges, festivals, studios, and arts programs throughout the country and abroad. He regularly presents choreography throughout the Northeast with his company, Off Beat. Ryan currently teaches at The Dance Inn in Lexington, where he initially trained under Thelma Goldberg and Kelly Kaleta, and Endicott College. He is a proud alumnus of The School at Jacob's Pillow, the National YoungArts Foundation, New York University, and the Harvard Graduate School of Education.
