Websites for Artists & Makers Workshop

This workshop with B. Mccormick is for artists, makers, and creatives of all types who want a website — one that can be managed by the artist, with no coding knowledge needed. This 4-day class will be hands-on, working with SquareSpace websites,* and we'll get your site up and going in just a few days! You'll leave with what you have learned and be able to update and expand your site, on your own.

We will Create a Professional Artist site:
- A landing page
- Home page & menu
- Typical gallery
- Contact page

We will talk about:
-How to work within SquareSpace
-Creating good habits
-What an artist site should have
-We will touch on branding — what is yours?
-Photography consistency, quality
-Image file formats and sizing
-Curating your art
-Helpful software
-Selling? (options)
-Writing for your site (what do you want to say?)

The photographic images of B. McCormick fluctuate between Man-made structure(s) and Nature, creating and questioning visual depth when elements collide. Often her images give a sense of tactile "grit" in the air. Working with pinhole cameras and similar, she captures images that often test balance and footing – metaphorically or actual. At one time an Architectural Photographer and Industrial Designer, B. McCormick is now pursuing her personal work.

Recent juried shows include: Nude Nite Orlando, Nude Nite Tampa, and the Griffin Museum of Photography. The work is in private collections and has been shown in galleries and museums throughout the US. Visit her website at
