Young Theatre Makers 2 with Celia! Ages 11–16

A whimsical week-long intensive for aspiring theatre artists! Theatre experience is not necessary, just excitement and a willingness to play and learn!

Over the course of the week, we'll learn the foundations of how to approach and work with any piece of theatre. The week will begin with actor work—we'll explore characterization, vocal technique, dance-based strategies for physical storytelling, and tactics for finding meaning in and easily learning lines. We'll then move into scene work—we'll learn how to break down a script, work with scene partners, and develop good rehearsal habits. The rest of the week, we'll rehearse a short, family-friendly play to be performed for an audience at the end of the day on Friday. As well as acting, there will be opportunities throughout the week for campers to learn about directing, stage management, and set/costume design.

Each day will begin with fun warm-up games, and when the weather permits we'll spend time outside! Campers can expect a thrilling, imaginative, hands-on week of learning about this art form we so love!!

About the Instructor
