For the health, safety and well-being of our patrons, staff and artists, CCftA’s current COVID-19 policy requires guests attending performances inside our main building or black box theater to be vaccinated. Upon arrival and prior to entering the building, all guests must present proof that they meet the CDC definition of being fully vaccinated against COVID-19, either in the form of a physical vaccination card or a photo of the card. (Guests may also send a photo of the vaccination card in advance to POV@cotuitcenterforthearts.org). Please note all guests within a party will need to show proof of vaccination.
Guests who are exempt from COVID-19 vaccinations due to medical reasons or sincerely held religious beliefs will be required to take a COVID test within 72 hours before entering the building and present their negative results at the door.
We do not recommend bringing children under twelve years of age to indoor performances . Children under twelve will be required to wear masks at all times when indoors.
Policies for education may be reviewed by clicking here:
Visitors to our gallery and outdoor events must follow these guidelines:
Fully vaccinated patrons are not required to wear masks or socially distance.
Unvaccinated adults are advised to mask and maintain a social distance of 6 feet when indoors. Masks for unvaccinated adults are also advised in crowded outdoor conditions.
Cotuit Center for the Arts is ecstatic to once-again be producing the quality programming for which we are celebrated in the community. But along with providing quality programming comes an essential amount of staff and volunteers to make that happen. Unfortunately, Covid necessitated that we cut our staff in half. And it takes a long-time to begin to make enough revenue to hire back to pre-Covid levels. But we are not there yet and won’t be in 2021. Our volunteers have been extremely helpful, but some are just not ready yet to return.
In order to ensure we continue to be frugal while ramping up in a post-Covid world, we must continue to operate with far fewer staff resources. However, our programming has increased significantly, in part, because we want to offer platforms for all of our wonderful teachers and artists and performers and musicians. We are offering these platforms this summer both indoors and on our new outdoor stage. We were not able to get rights for, audition, rehearse, and mount our usual big summer theatrical productions. Those previous summer productions are planned up to a year in advance. So this summer’s variety of unique alternative offerings gives us an opportunity to present programming across the board.
You can trust that we concentrate very seriously on every single concert, theater production, gallery exhibit, and class. We are doing our best to make sure that all of our marketing covers everything we have on the calendar. We are doing advertising and social media across the spectrum. However, as mentioned above, we do have limitations in our own bandwidth. Many of you have asked what you can do to help us do this time of increased programming and limited staff bandwidth. We encourage all our performers and teachers to do as much outreach for their programs as possible, now and always. It is so important that everyone working or participating in anything going on here do everything they can to also help us spread the word.
We have so much to offer, especially this summer! But we have many people in our society who are still trepidatious about coming to public events. So we are trying to manage expectations with smaller than pre-Covid houses. Folks are buying tickets and taking classes and visiting the Gallery! But those folks may not come in the numbers that we are used to until we get further away from Covid. We don’t want you to be disappointed if that happens. Trust in us that we are doing everything we can to market each class and event. And please help us any way that you can.
We are very excited to be presenting such a broad spectrum of arts and culture. It is time to come back! And we are grateful that you are back with us. We thank you for your enthusiasm and also your patience. We are all in this together. And the show WILL go on!
