Press Release: Pirouettes, Pliés & Pets

Pirouettes Plies and Pets

Celebrate the magical connection between dancers and their pets in the documentary Pirouettes, Pliés, and Pets, screening at Cotuit Center For The Arts on Tuesday, October 12th at 7pm.

Among those featured in this moving documentary are: Eric Riley, the extraordinary Broadway entertainer, choreographer, and director; Adam Spencer, an award winning British ballroom dancer, co-founder of Chance To Dance, and director of the famed Studio 878; Jackie Underwood, artistic director at Cape Cod Ballet Theatre For Children, alum of the School of American Ballet, and ballerina; and Naomi Turner, avid ballroom competitor, dance instructor, and the founder of Studio 878 and the Chatham Orpheum.

The central focus of this unique film is the unbridled joy animals bring to our lives, shown through the relationship between dancers and their four-footed companions—especially their lessons in how to live in the moment with absolute spontaneity!

Please join us for a special evening to benefit the MSPCA and Cotuit Center for the Arts, funded by Rockland Trust.

Following the film, Anne LeClaire (the best-selling author of nine books, including Listening Below the Noise and The Orchid Sisters, and a student of Tango) will join professional dancers Adam Spencer and Angel Fox in a conversation exploring the power of dance and how it changes lives. The evening’s finale will be an electrifying performance by Angel and Adam!

Proof of vaccination or negative COVID test is required to attend. For more information, and to purchase tickets, visit artsonthecape.org or call 508-428-0669. Cotuit Center for the Arts is located at 4404 Falmouth Road/Route 28 in Cotuit.
