Jury (and The Enterprise) Declares ‘Legally Blonde’ A Hit!

“Omigod, omigod, you guys” — “Legally Blonde” is, well, fabulous.

It’s also sold out, so for those of you lucky enough to have tickets, get your favorite pink accessories on and get ready to enjoy a great night at the Cotuit Center for the Art’s Main Stage.

Most of us are familiar with the 2001 movie of the same name, starring Reese Witherspoon as popular sorority girl Elle Woods who is crushed after her aspirational boyfriend dumps her on his way to climbing the social ladder. Elle decides the only way forward in the name of love is to follow Warner to Harvard Law School. And so begins her quest to “be serious.”

Getting herself accepted to the prestigious university is only the first surprise she has in store for the audience and for herself.

While the majority of the show is campy fun, under all that pink sparkle, there’s a serious message about finding yourself and overcoming other’s expectations of who you are. Read the rest of the review here.

Generous support for our main stage theater productions at Cotuit Center for the Arts is graciously provided in tribute to John McGraw.

A fabulously fun award-winning musical based on the adored movie, Legally Blonde The Musical, follows the transformation of Elle Woods as she tackles stereotypes and scandal in pursuit of her dreams.

Elle Woods appears to have it all. Her life is turned upside down when her boyfriend Warner dumps her so he can attend Harvard Law. Determined to get him back, Elle ingeniously charms her way into the prestigious law school. While there, she struggles with peers, professors, and her ex. With the support of some new friends, though, Elle quickly realizes her potential and sets out to prove herself to the world.

Action-packed and exploding with memorable songs and dynamic dances - this musical is so much fun, it should be illegal!
