Billed as a Tragicomedy in 2 Acts, Beckett's mid-20th century masterpiece transcends the bounds of era, genre, sub-genre or school, and takes a rightful place among the great dramatic works throughout the long history of world theater. Two old friends--Estragon and Vladimir-- meet again near a tree to wait for someone--Godot--who has yet to arrive. They are visited by a wealthy landowner and his slave (Pozzo and Lucky), and finally by a messenger, who tells Estragon and Vladimir that they should return the next day and wait. In the meantime, they consider suicide, the Gospels, and whether it is worth it to continue waiting
