Cape Cod Can Slide 1

Since 2016, Cape Cod Collaborative Arts Network (CapeCodCAN) has been an independently-run program under the Center's non-profit umbrella. The merger of the two nonprofits is a natural fit, providing opportunities for artists on the Cape living with disabilities.

CapeCodCAN provides opportunities for inclusion and active participation in the arts for people with disabilities on Cape Cod.

CapeCodCAN serves more than 500 people each year through various art activities including art lessons, gallery shows, public art creation, talent shows, and theatrical performances.

a "Page to Stage" reading of "A Simpler Time"

The CapeCodCAN Improv Players

is an acting studio and improvisation group partnering students with

Watermelon Alligator Theater Company

for a unique acting workshop in preparation for an inclusive staged reading event

A Simpler Time is a series of comic plays interconnected by a frame story. Each of the nine plays in the collection is by a different playwright, and Jonathan Dorf wrote the connecting dialogues. The frame story has three (21stCentury) characters traveling in a time machine in search of a “simpler time.” They perform a Prologue, Epilogue, and Interludes after and before each piece. As they visit different time periods, starting in the Middle Ages and moving forward into the (possible) future, the travelers serve as witnesses to events.
