All Worn Out Jug Band

The All Worn Out Jug Band Pro-Democracy Concert at Tangletuit

  • Jul 1, 2024 @ 7:30pm

Founded in 2000 in Chatham, MA, the All Worn Out Jug Band has been performing on the Cape, Islands and Southeastern MA, the band was conceptualized with guiding principles by a folk artist who had opened for Jug Bands in Greenwich Village in the 1960s. The Band worked on a series of arrangements, consistent with those jug band, replete with kazoos, washtub bass, slide whistle, washboard and of course a jug. Over the years, the band has released 2 CDs and has incorporated more contemporary and traditional folk classics to their setlists.

With 2024 being an important election year, the All Worn Out Jug Band will be performing songs of politics and protest. The Band will cover songs from artists like The Weavers, Bob Dylan, Pete Seeger, and Woody Guthrie and even more contemporary artists.

The Band will talk about the songs, the movements they supported and the way that music has been able to shape hearts and minds, through the many changes in our world. The Band will create arrangements that will take advantage of the group’s multi-instrumentalists, including:

Gregry Baird – ukulele, banjo, washboard, composer, slide whistle

Tim Dickey – guitar and dobro

Kevin Howard – guitar, mandolin, kazoo

Mary Leobig – bass

Rev Edmund Robinson – banjo, fiddle, concertina, harmonica, jug
