Cotuit Center for the Arts presents an encore performance of “Fully Committed” by Becky Mode, which played to rave reviews in June. Back by popular demand, the show will run January 17 to February 1 in the Black Box Theater. Performances are on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 PM. Ruthe Lew directs.

Highly versatile actor Ari Lew plays 40 wildly diverse characters in this devastatingly funny one-act play that follows a day in the life of Sam Peliczowski, an out-of-work actor who mans the red-hot reservation line at Manhattan’s number-one restaurant. Lew deals with a chef who bullies him, a chipper, but relentless, assistant to Gwyneth Paltrow, an imposing socialite, and many other recognizable New Yorker types who will stop at nothing in their zeal to land a prime reservation or the right table. Coercion, threats, bribes, and histrionics are just the beginning.

The Cape Cod Times praised the June performance, writing that the show was “at times so hilarious the risers shake with laughter."

The New York Times called the play “immensely entertaining, a richly comic affirmation of everything I’ve ever heard, or suspected, about the bad behavior that good food can inspire.” Time Out NY wrote: “hilarious and touching, gallops along at a swift, almost frantic pace,” and the New York Post called it “a sparkling one-man tour de force . . . very funny and very believable.”

Tickets are $20, $15 for members. Cotuit Center for the Arts is at 4404 Route 28 in Cotuit. For more information, visit www.artsonthecape.org, or call 508-428-0669.
