What: Piece-by-Piece IV Installation and Reception
When: June 15th 5-7pm
Admission: Free

Piece-by-Piece IV is a collaborative project involving more than 140 artists working Separately – yes separately - to create a single large-scale artwork. And these artists have no idea what the final piece will look like until the installation.

Each artist received a 15” x 15” blank panel along with a three-inch square section randomly selected from an iconic painting. Is it part of a Monet, a Matisse, a Picasso? The artists, using any medium, must replicate their part of the puzzle onto their 15”x15” panel.

On June 15th, the 140 separate pieces will be joined together to form an artwork of grand proportion: 12.5 feet high by 17.5 feet wide. Only then will the artists and the attendees find out whose masterpiece has been created.

All 140 panels will be available for purchase for $100 each (50% goes to CCA, 50% to the artist).

Piece-by-Piece IV runs from June 15th to July 28th.

Cotuit Center for the Arts is at 4404 Route 28 in Cotuit. For more information, visit www.artsonthecape.org or call 508-428-0669.
