Sons Of Serendip2

Cotuit Center for the Arts presents the Sons of Serendip Christmas Show on Thursday, December 19, at 7:30 PM.

Sons of Serendip is a quartet of friends who, through a series of serendipitous events, came together in graduate school at Boston University and rocketed to popularity after a fourth place finish on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (season 9) and subsequently appeared on America’s Got Talent: The Champions. Sons of Serendip is a genre-bending quartet offering fresh interpretations of popular music and Christmas songs.

AGT judges Howie Mandel and Howard Stern called Sons of Serendip the most musically talented act on the show, the New York Times called their Christmas album “silky beyond reason,” and Chicago Concert Reviews wrote that “their ingenious arrangements make pretty much anything they touch sound like an original.”

Members of the group are lead singer Micah Christian, a former teacher from Randolph, MA; pianist and guitarist Cordaro Rodriguez, a former attorney from Charlotte, NC; cellist and vocalist Kendall Ramseur, a former cello instructor from Charlotte, NC; and harpist Mason Morton, a former teacher from Atlanta, GA.

All have been playing their instruments since childhood. They hope that their music will resonate deeply with listeners, that, in some way, it will make their lives a little better – even if just for a moment, and will inspire others to use their gifts to spread love and build a better world.

Sons of Serendip has performed at Boston’s Symphony Hall, The Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, Atlanta Symphony Hall, and many other venues across the country, and have collaborated with the Boston Pops, the Plymouth Philharmonic Orchestra, and with Cynthia Erivo and the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra. They have been featured performers at charitable events, awards shows (including the Creative Arts Emmy Awards), and sports events.

Sons of Serendip have released three albums, “Sons of Serendip,” “Life + Love,” and “Christmas Beyond the Lights,” and several singles.

Their first two appearance at Cotuit Center for the Arts sold out quickly, so those interested are advised to purchase tickets as soon as possible.

Tickets are $55, $48 for balcony seating. There is a $5 discount for members and a $2 discount for seniors and veterans. For more information, visit www.artsonthecape.org, or call 508-428-0669. Cotuit Center for the Arts is at 4404 Route 28 in Cotuit.
